Geoff Huston

Geoff Huston is the Chief Scientist at APNIC, where he undertakes research on topics associated with Internet infrastructure, IP technologies, and address distribution policies. From 1995 to 2005, Geoff was the Chief Internet Scientist at Telstra, where he provided a leading role in the construction and further development of Telstra's Internet service offerings, both in Australia and as part of Telstra's global operations. Prior to Telstra, Mr Huston worked for the Australian National University, where he led the initial construction of the Internet in Australia in the late 1980s as the Technical Manager of the Australian Academic and Research Network.

He has authored a number of books dealing with IP technology, as well as numerous papers and columns. He was a member of the Internet Architecture Board from 1999 until 2005 and served as its Executive Director from 2001 to 2005. He is an active member of the Internet Engineering Task Force, where he currently chairs two Working Groups. He served on the Board of Trustees of the Internet Society from 1992 until 2001 and served a term as Chair of the Board in 1999. He has served on the Board of the Public Internet Registry and also on the Executive Council of APNIC. He chaired the Internet Engineering and Planning Group from 1992 until 2005.

John Brzozowski

At Comcast, John provides technical leadership and guides the firm's deployment of IPv6. He leverages his expertise and experiences to drive the adoption and implementation of IPv6 ensuring that innovative solutions are in place to support traditional and next generation services. John has contributed significantly to many standards and technologies critical to the cable industry's adoption of IPv6, specifically those pertaining to voice, video, and data. He works closely with CableLabs on DOCSIS and PacketCable specifications and has contributed to IETF standards efforts.

John's work in the technical community currently includes acting as the chair of the MidAtlantic IPv6 Task Force, North American IPv6 Task Force Steering Committee member, and member of the IPv6 Forum. Through his work with these organization he helps to drive and support critical IPv6 activities regionally and nationally including but not limited to promoting IPv6 education, awareness, and of course adoption. John also serves as co-chair of the IETF DHC Working Group and co-chair of the MAAWG IPv6 technical sub-committee.

Olaf Kolkman

Olaf Kolkman is director of NLnet Labs, a foundation chartered to develop open source software and open source standards for the Internet. He has been actively involved with Internet technology since during the early nineties during his astronomy studies and became professionally involved in 1996.

In 1997 he joined the RIPE NCC where he got involved in the test-traffic project. After being operations manager he became systems architect and project manager in 2000. He was responsible for DNSSEC deployment at the RIPE NCC.

During that project Kolkman got more involved in the DNS community and became active in the IETF. He served as chair of the DNS extension's working group.

As director of NLnet Labs he 'evangineers' the Open Internet. In particular the use of open standards and technologies, and the development and deployment of technologies that secure the Internet. NLnet Labs activities are largely focused around providing reliable open source software to achieve better security, particularly in the area of DNSSEC.

Olaf Kolkman is an IAB member since March 2006 and was its chair between March 2007 and March 2011.

Olaf Kolkman was born (1966) and raised in the Netherlands. He is married, with two kids, and lives in Uithoorn, The Netherlands.

Olaf is married to Leidi, has two kids and lives in Uithoorn, NL.

Richard Jimmerson

Richard has been actively involved in Internet resource governance and education since the 1990s. His focus at the Internet Society is to advance and grow the Internet through the delivery of implementation-critical information for deployment of key Internet technologies.

Richard facilitated Internet advancement as a lead executive at the American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN) over a thirteen year period. He directed registration activities, company operations, and several outreach initiatives during his years at ARIN. In his final years at ARIN, Richard led a high profile outreach campaign to raise Internet community awareness of IPv4 depletion and the critical need for IPv6 adoption.

Richard has communicated with thousands of companies about their adoption of new technologies and standards over the years.

Russ Housley

Russ Housley is the current (2011) Chair of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), since March 2007.

Apart from his IETF work, he is a security systems consultant, working under the company name Vigil Security LLC, which he founded in 2002.

Before starting Vigil Security, Housley has worked at the Air Force Data Services Center, Xerox, SPYRUS and RSA Laboratories.

He has been active in the IETF and related groups since the mid-1980s, starting with the design of Privacy Enhanced Mail, the first attempts at standardizing a secure email function. He is listed as author of at least 43 RFCs.

He is also active in the security work of IEEE 802, among others working to rectify the security deficencies of the IEEE 802.11 Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) protocol.

Sebastián Bellagamba

Sebastián Bellagamba is the Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean for the Internet Society.

Prior to joining ISOC, Sebastián worked in the Internet Service Providers industry, founding and running several ISPs in Argentina and also managing regional Latin America operations. At that time, he was also President of the Argentine Internet Industry Association (CABASE).

Sebastián also has an extensive career on international Internet-related organizations, having been a member of LACNIC's Auditing Committee, Chairman of the Argentine Chapter of the Internet Society, Chairman of the Argentine Chapter of the IPv6 Task Force; he is currently a member of ICANN's Address Supporting Organization Council, being the Chairman of this Council for 2006 and 2007.

Hernán Contreras

Hernán Contreras é engenheiro de Sistemas, Consultor da Cisco Systems e tem mais de 20 anos de experiência na indústria das redes. Juntou-se a Cisco em 1997 como engenheiro de sistemas com especialização em SNA e tecnologias de switching a nível de campo. Como CCIE, tem trabalhado com múltiplos provedores de serviço no desenho de suas redes IP/MPLS e Carrier Ethernet. Durante os últimos anos tem participado de forma ativa na difusão do IPv6, transformando-se em Instrutor Certificado do fórum do IPv6. Hernán é Engenheiro Civil Eletricista formado pela Universidade do Chile e Mestre em Telecomunicações . Também é professor fundador do programa "Pós-graduação em Internetworking" e "Mestre em Comunicação" da Universidade do Chile.

Martin Levy

Martin Levy tem estado envolvido no mundo de TCP/IP desde a publicação das primeiras RFC sobre TCP/IP no começo dos anos 80. Nasceu e estudou na Inglaterra, mas depois mudou-se para os Estados Unidos para trabalhar como desenvolvedor de software no afamado Bell Labs. Foi ali que implementou seus primeiros computadores UNIX que suportavam redes TCP/IP. Depois de sete anos em Nova Jersey, Martin se trasladou para Califórnia, na região do Vale do Silício (Silicon Valley) e continuou trabalhando na área de sistemas e software de redes. A partir desse momento, tem construído redes na Califórnia, Estados Unidos, Europa, América Latina e agora também na Ásia. Desde que Martin entrou na Hurricane Electric no começo de 2008, assumiu a tarefa de ampliar significativamente a oferta do Ipv6 de Hurricane Electric para o setor comercial e governamental, inclusive sua expansão a nível global. Seu trabalho sobre o ecosistema de roteamento Ipv6 global tem sido fundamental para que a Internet Ipv6 global tenha hoje a qualidade que tem.

Russ White

Russ White é o principal engenheiro da Cisco Systems em RTP, NC. É membro da equipe dos programas CCDE e CCAr, participante ativo no IETF, co-autor de 8 livros sobre tecnologia de redes, e apresentador habitual na Cisco Live no mundo todo. Sua área de trabalho são os protocolos de roteamento e as tecnologias adjacentes ao sistema de roteamento, como por exemplo os planos de controle conscientes do consumo de energia, reencaminhamento rápido (fast reroute), roteamento IPv6 e redes móveis ad hoc.

 

Ernesto Majó

Es Gerente del Area de Comunicaciones de LACNIC desde 2008, desde donde se articula la comunicación y el relacionamiento de LACNIC con su comunidad y el medio externo. Ello incluye la implementación de iniciativas dirigidas a fortalecer el desarrollo de la sociedad de la información en la región, en articulación permanente con todos los actores relevantes, tanto del ámbito público como privado. Entre los años 2004 y 2008 fue Coordinador de Cooperación Institucional realizando el lanzamiento y dirigiendo la primera fase del Programa FRIDA (www.programafrida.net).

Antes de incorporarse al mundo de Internet participó activamente en los procesos de modernización institucional de los sistemas nacionales de innovación agrícola de Uruguay, tanto en el área de investigación (1991 - 1994) como posteriormente en la faz de transferencia tecnológica y capacitación de empresarios (1997 - 2007). En esta última etapa, fue responsable por las áreas de Comunicación, Gestión Empresarial y Capacitación liderando directamente la elaboración e implementación de un proyecto pionero en América Latina basado en e-learning para la capacitación de empresarios, trabajadores y profesionales del medio agropecuario del Uruguay.

Carlos Martínez Cagnazzo

Carlos Martínez Cagnazzo é engenheiro elétrico e tem trabalhado por mais de dez anos na área informática, redes de computadores e telecomunicações. Sua experiência inclui operação, manutenção e planejamento de redes IP no maior ISP do Uruguai, além de ter participado em diferentes projetos de segurança informática e desenvolvimento de software.

Suas áreas de Internet incluem segurança, roteamento, engenharia de redes e DNS/ DNSSEC.

Desde setembro de 2010 trabalha como engenheiro de pesquisa e desenvolvimento no LACNIC, cujos projetos e principais interesses incluem Certificação de Recursos (RPKI), IPv6 e DNSSEC. Carlos também é docente universitário na área de redes de computadores.

Gerardo Rada

Gerardo Rada é engenheiro de sistemas pela Universidade Nacional Experimental das Forças Armadas da Venezuela UNEFA desde 2006, com 8 anos de experiência no desenvolvimento de sistemas. Atualmente exerce a função de engenheiro de software e desenvolvimento no LACNIC, tendo como principal responsabilidade a gestão e desenvolvimento do sistema de certificação de recursos http://www.lacnic.net/sp/rpki/ dessa instituição. Em 2007, foi selecionado no Centro Nacional de Inovação Tecnológica CENIT da Venezuela, para fazer parte da equipe de desenvolvimento binacional Uruguai-Venezuela no marco do projeto Ruby para Genexus. Em 2008 integra o grupo técnico do projeto de prospecção tecnológica.

Gustavo Mercado

É Engenheiro Eletrônico (1981) e Mestrando a nível de Tese de Mestrado em Redes de Dados da UNLP, professor de grau UTN, docente pesquisador UTN categoria C, e III no Ministério da Educação. Subdiretor do Grupo UTN GRID TICs.

É diretor da Carreira de Especialização de Redes de Dados da UTN FRM desde 2009. É coordenador e instrutor certificado CCNA da Academia Local CISCO desde 2002. Pesquisador nos Projetos SAC-C e SAC-D da CONAE – NASA. Tem trabalhado/trabalha em projetos de I+D na área das redes de dados, IPv6 e WSN, e tem realizado transferência ao meio local e nacional. Tem sido orador e assistente em diversos simpósios, congressos e oficinas.

Fernando Gont

Fernando Gont se especializa en el área de seguridad de protocolos de comunicaciones, brindando consultoría para instituciones privadas y gubernamentales tanto de su país de origen (Argentina) como del extranjero.

Gont ha trabajado en una variedad de proyectos para el UK National Infrastructure Security Co-ordination Centre (NISCC) y el UK Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure (CPNI) en el área de seguridad de protocolos de comunicaciones, y ha escrito una variedad de documentos con recomendaciones para ingenieros de redes e implementadores de la suite de protocolos TCP/IP.

Actualmente se encuentra trabajando para SI6 Networks, como consultor en el área de seguridad e ingeniería de Internet. Asimismo, es miembro del Centro de Estudios de Informatica (CEDI) de Universidad Tecnológica Nacional/Facultad Regional Haedo (UTN/FRH) de Argentina, en donde se desenvuelve en el área de Ingeniería de Internet.

Como parte de su trabajo, participa activamente en la Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), organismo encargado de la estandarización de los protocolos de comunicaciones utilizados por la red Internet, ámbito en el que ha publicado una variedad de IETF RFCs, así como también una gran cantidad de Internet-Drafts, muchos de los cuales ya han sido adoptados por la IETF para su futura publicación como RFC. Asimismo, Gont es miembro del Transport Area Directorate de la IETF http://trac.tools.ietf.org/area/tsv/trac/wiki/TSV-Directorate.

Gont ha participado como ponente en una variedad de conferencias y reuniones técnicas sobre seguridad de la información, sistemas operativos, e ingeniería de Internet, entre las que se encuentran:

Alvaro Retana

Alvaro Retana is a Distinguished Technologist in the Global Product Solution Architecture Team, which consults with Hewlett-Packard's largest customers on their network transformation projects. Prior to joining HP Networking, he was a Principal Engineer at Cisco Systems, where he led the Core IP Techcnology Architecture Team. Alvaro is widely recognized for his expertize in Routing Protocols and Network Design and Architecture; he is a CCIE, CCDE and one of only two people in the world who have achieved the CCAr certification. He is an active participant in the IETF, where he chairs the Routing Area Working Group, is a member of the Routing Area Directorate and has authored 4 RFCs. Alvaro has published 4 technical books and has been awarded almost 30 patents by the US Patent and Trademark Office. His current interests include DC architecture, controller-based networks, energy efficiency and infrastructure security.

Luisa Villa

Luisa Villa y Battenberg dirige la recientemente creada Gerencia de Clientes de LACNIC que engloba los servicios a los asociados referentes a la asignación de recursos, membresía y facturación, teniendo como prioridad, la satisfacción de los clientes con respecto a los servicios que reciben de LACNIC.

Cuenta con una extensa experiencia en la industria de Internet y especialización en la región de América Latina. Antes de unirse a LACNIC, residía en Colonia, Alemania donde fungía como gerente regional para Latinoamérica para Sedo.com, especializándose en el mercado secundario de dominios de Internet.

Su formación académica internacional incluyen, una maestría en ciencias en estudios administrativos por Boston College y un seminario en comunicaciones por Harvard Extension School, los mismos obtenidos en Estados Unidos, además de diversos cursos en Francia y Alemania. En México se recibió con honores por el ITESO en la licenciatura de Relaciones Internacionales.

Luisa es ciudadana mexicana y vive en Montevideo, Uruguay.
