LACSEC - 5to Evento de Segurança em Redes para América Latina e Caribe

Este evento tem como objetivo reunir os atores mais importantes em temas de segurança em redes na América Latina e Caribe.
Através de um processo de apresentações, discussões e debates, serão definidos os principais desafios em matéria de segurança em redes no mundo e particularmente na região, esclarecendo a relevância dos CERTs em matéria de segurança em redes, quais são os papéis que os Provedores de Serviços de Internet devem ter em relação á segurança, que tipo de coordenação intra-regional deve haver e quais características devem possuir, etc.
Este esforço de coordenação em atividades de temas de segurança de redes em nossa região contará com expositores especialistas em nível regional e mundial, apresentando seus pontos de vista sobre este assunto e posteriormente abrindo espaço para debate e a definição de ações concretas.

Laura Kuiper has worked at Cisco for over 13 years. In that time she first worked in Cisco IT doing network architecture and supporting both Cisco's internal network as well as it's external web presence.
She then transitioned into Corporate Information Security (Infosec) where her responsibilities included Network security architecture, secure web application architecture, Security Operations, and the creation of Security policies within Cisco.
Currently she is working in CTO Consulting Engineering department focusing on Security. Her current responsibilities include working with Service Providers on how to incorporate Security into their networks, manage security incidents within the network and an overall understanding of what security can do. She also works with several standard organizations, in particular ISO and ITU, to create standards and guidelines on IT Security, Network Security, Cyber Security and Incident Management. She has worked with various customers to support Security architecture as well as working with Cisco's Engineering teams for advancing security within Cisco products.
Ricardo Patara, Bs en Ciencias de Computación y especialización en Redes de Computadoras de Alta Velocidad por la Universidad de Sao Paulo (USP). Experiencia en administración de redes y sistemas. Ha desempeñado la función de Gerente Técnico en LACNIC por 8 años teniendo bajo su responsabilidad proyectos como RPKI y otros. Desempeña ahora la función de Gerente de Servicio de Registro en el NIC.BR
Carlos Morales is Arbor Networks Vice President of Worldwide Sales Engineering and Consulting. Carlos is responsible for all pre-sales support, solution architecture, field operations and implementation of Arbor's security and network visibility solutions. Carlos has more than 17 years of experience in consulting and implementing security, routing and access solutions into service provider and enterprise networks.
Carlos' background includes management positions at Nortel Networks, where he served as the director of systems engineering for Nortel's access products, and as the director of systems engineering for Tiburon Networks. He also held systems engineering roles at Shiva, Crescent Networks and Hayes Microcomputer.
Klaus Steding-Jessen is a Senior Security Analyst and Technical Manager at CERT.br, the Brazilian National CERT, maintained by NIC.br, from the Brazilian Internet Steering Committee. He is with CERT.br since 1999, where he works with incident handling, provides training in information security and incident management, develops best practices for system administration, and is involved with the development of tools, based on honeypots, to better understand current attack trends, correlating this data with incidents reported to CERT.br. He has also been involved since 2001 with honeypots and honeynets; since 2003 with the deployment of a network of distributed honeypots in Brazil; and since 2006 with the SpamPots Project, which uses honeypots to measure the abuse of end-user machines to send spam. Klaus is a CERT-Certified Computer Security Incident Handler and an authorized instructor to deliver the CERT Program courses, from the Software Engineering Institute, Carnegie Mellon University. He has a degree in Computer Engineering and a PhD from Applied Computing at the Brazilian National Institute for Space Research (INPE). He has been a speaker at several forums such as ITU, LACNIC, FIRST, GovCERT.NL and Q-CERT Conferences.
Carlos Martinez-Cagnazzo is an Electrical Engineer from Uruguay with more than 10 years of experience in the Telecommunications market. He started working in Operations and Management of IP networks and gradually transitioned to Computer Security. Since 2005 he has been working exclusively in the field of computer security for CSIRT-ANTEL, the computer security incident response team of ANTEL (the largest telecom operator in Uruguay).
Since 2007 Carlos has been the chair of the Network Security mailing list and Network Security Forum; both hosted by LACNIC.
Carlos also teaches classes on Computer Security and Computer Networking for both the Computer Science Institute of UDELAR (Universidad de la Republica) and Universidad de Montevideo, both important and recognized Universities in Uruguay.
His current research interests include honeypots, honeynets, security in IPv6, and secure, automated security information sharing across administrative boundaries.
