Through its annual meetings, discussion fora and technical coordination activities, LACNIC is strongly involved with the Internet community of the region contributing to achieve these goals.

Within the framework of this meeting, several activities take place, such as: Technical Training workshops, the Regional Interconnection Forum, the Network Security Event for Latin America and the Caribbean, the Latin American IPv6 Forum, the Public Policy Forum, Roundtable meetings, Regional Government working groups, and the Annual Members’ Assembly. Additionally, other regional organisations such as LACTLD (the association of ccTLDs of the region) take part in the meeting, participating in common activities as well as organizing a Policy workshop and having their annual members´ meeting.
Participants
The target audience is extremely broad, including among others, Internet service providers, regulatory bodies, academic networks, ccTLD operators, NAP operators, civil society representatives, governments and professionals from the telecommunications industry in general.
The last LACNIC meeting held in the city of Panama in 2009, had more than 300 attendees from 40 countries from Latin America and the Caribbean as well as from outside the region. For this reason, this is a unique opportunity to reach this important audience.
As a not-for-profit organization, LACNIC depends on its sponsors contributions to hold these meetings. Through their contributions, we reduce delegate participation costs. This enables the widest range of members from the regional community to attend these important meetings.
