This page describes initial assignment and renewal fees for different Internet resources and member categories.
In order to be assigned the resource, the initial payment must be completed and the Registration Service Agreement must be signed.
Starting the following year, on the anniversary of the assignment, LACNIC will charge an annual renewal fee equivalent to the category of the organization as specified below. LACNIC will issue the invoice 2 months in advance of the anniversary date. Payments made within the period beginning on the date that the invoice is issued and ending on the anniversary date will receive a 10% discount. This discount will only apply to payments made for the renewal of IP address blocks allocated to ISP members.
Every organization that receives IP addresses from LACNIC is considered to be a member.
ISP members are those that receive IP addresses for subsequently assigning them to their clients. An ISP member’s category is defined by the number of IPv4 or IPv6 addresses it has been allocated.
LACNIC ISP members shall pay the annual membership fees corresponding to the highest category to which they belong according to the number of IPv4 or IPv6 addresses they have been assigned.
No additional cost will be paid by ISP members for additional resource allocations. Should the additional allocation result in a change of category, this will be reflected in the following invoice – which will be issued for the amount corresponding to the new category.
End User members are those that receive IP addresses for use in their own infrastructure and do not assign addresses to third parties.
IMPORTANT: The membership renewal depends upon the payment of the annual maintenance fee; the service may be cancelled if no payment is made within the established term.
More information about the renewal procedure
According to the resolution of the Member Assembly held on 28 May 2009:
"In order to promote the adoption of this protocol, the exemption of fees corresponding to IPv6 resources shall be maintained until July 1st, 2012. For this reason, until that date the number of IPv6 addresses shall not be considered when determining the appropriate category."

End users must pay an annual membership fee of USD 600 regardless of the number of IPv4 or IPv6 addresses they have been assigned.
Non government, non-profit organizations that in the opinion of LACNIC are considered to be End Users shall have a 50% discount on both initial and annual membership renewal fees. In the latter case, discounts on IP address assignment fees will only apply if those resources are or will be used for non-profit services.
ASN
| Initial Amount (USD) |
| 1000 |
The annual renewal of ASN assignments is not subject to any fee.
Membership
The annual membership fee for organizations with no resources assigned by LACNIC is US$ 600. Organizations that have IPv4 and/or IPv6 resources will automatically be considered LACNIC members and, therefore, these organizations shall not be required to pay this annual membership fee but only the renewal fee corresponding to their membership category.
Organizations holding resources provided by ARIN must sign the Registration Services Agreement with LACNIC.
Transfers
According to the resolution of LACNIC's Board of Directors, IP address and ASN transfers are free of charge.
IP addresses transferred to an ISP will be added to the total address space already assigned to that ISP. The renewal fee to be paid shall be determined according to the new size of the corresponding address block.
Before requesting transfer of IP and/or ASN, please check LACNIC allocation policies about this: Point 3.2.17 of LACNIC policies .
