| Election of Representative of Latin America and Caribbean member to the ICANN ASO Address Council |
LACNIC is pleased to announce that during LACNIC VII in San Jose Costa Rica last October 28th Sebastian Bellagamba has been elected to the ICANN ASO Address Council as representative of the Latin America and Caribbean region.
Sebastian Bellagamba will fill the seat being vacated by Raimundo Beca who was recently elected to the ICANN Board. The term of Sebastian begins at the moment of his election until December 31st 2006..

| Election Chair LACNIC Open Policy Forum |
LACNIC is pleased to announce the election of Christian O'Flaherty as the new Chair of LACNIC Open Policy Forum. The election was held last October 28th during the Open Policy Forum in LACNIC VII.
According to the LACNIC Policy Development Process Christian will be chair for the next two years until the last meeting of LACNIC in 2006.
Functions of the Chair of the Public Forum:
To conduct discussions at the Public Forum, the Public Policy List and the Policy Development Process in general.
To evaluate and suggest consensus in policy discussions.
To suggest the finalization of the discussion on a specific subject at the Public Policy List.
To summon the creation of Working Groups on the Public Policy List. |
