The Annual Members Assembly is the maximum authority within LACNIC's organizational structure and, according to LACNIC's bylaws, it must meet at least once a year. The assembly has unique attributions, including reforming the bylaws, modifying membership fees, approval of balance sheets and audit reports, electing members to the Electoral and Fiscal Commissions, etc.

Although this meeting is oriented exclusively towards LACNIC members, these sessions are held behind open doors; this means that anyone participating in LACNIC IX is welcome to attend the assembly. This is in line with the policy of transparency that LACNIC has established for all its activities and functions.
