According to the provisions of LACNIC's bylaws and the regulations defined by the Electoral Commission, and having fulfilled all relevant stages according to the rules in force, between September 17 and 27 elections were held in order to select the candidates who will occupy two seats on LACNIC's Board of Directors; votes were collected electronically.
Having counted the votes, the following results were determined:

The number of voters that participated in the election was 68.
Therefore, in view of its legally granted rights, LACNIC's Electoral Commission is honored to confirm that Javier Salazar and Fábio Marinho shall occupy the seats on the Board of Directors for a three-year term, starting on January 1, 2005 until December 31, 2007.
We congratulate the new members of LACNIC's Board of Directors.
Likewise, we would like to thank Mr. Raimundo Beca, the Director ending his mandate, for his contribution to LACNIC´s Board of Directors during these years
