Call for nominations of candidates for LACNIC's fiscal commission and electoral commission elections

In accordance with articles 20 and 24 of LACNIC's bylaws (see bylaws), LACNIC calls for the nomination of candidates to fill the following positions:

According to the bylaws, members of the Fiscal and Electoral Commissions shall serve a three-year term of office and shall be partially renewed on a rotating basis.This year, the positions that will be renewed are those currently occupied by:

  • Gabriel Adonaylo, Fiscal Commission
  • Fermín Uribe, Electoral Commission
  • Jorge Raúl Cabañas, Electoral Commission. The position to be filled because of resignation of the incumbent is for one year, ending at the end of 1st semester of 2012.

LACNIC Member Assembly in Cancun, Mexico

Nominations must be made by the person authorized to exercise their organization's membership rights, which is the person registered on LACNIC's database as the "membership contact".

Requirements for running in the election:

  • Being nominated by a LACNIC member (self-nominations are allowed)
  • Being endorsed by two (2) LACNIC members
  • LACNIC employees may not be nominated or nominate any candidates.
  • Candidacies will be accepted taking into consideration the incompatibilities stated in articles 20 and 24 of LACNIC's bylaws applicable to members of the Fiscal and Electoral Commissions, as well as all legal provisions in force contained in LACNIC's bylaws.

Election

The election will be held during the Ordinary General Member Assembly, voting by show of hands. Winning candidates will occupy the positions currently filled by the outgoing members of the Electoral and Fiscal Commissions for a period of three years as of the moment of the election. In the case of vacancy by resignation, the time period is one year from the date of the election.

Of the 2 positions to be filled in the Electoral Commission, the most voted candidate will occupy the position of Fermín Uribe and the 2nd. most voted candidate, will take the place of Jorge Raúl Cabañas.
