In April 2004, ISC (Internet Systems Consortium) and LACNIC signed an agreement to carry out the Project +Raíces. This project will allow the installation of up to seven anycast copies of the F root server (operated by ISC) in countries within the region covered by LACNIC. Through this initiative it is sought to strengthen global infrastructure and Internet stability both at regional level as well as at global level, which is within the framework of LACNIC's active role as Internet promoter within the region.
