Periodically, LACNIC makes DNS queries to the name servers of the registered reverse domain names to verify if they are configured to its zones.
For each reverse delegated DNS server a SOA (Start of Authority) DNS query is made. The status of the server is considered OK if the system receives an authoritative answer for the queried zone.
The frequency of the queries depends on the status of the last check make in a given DNS delegation. If all the servers of the delegation have status OK then the next check will be made in at most 7 days. Otherwise, the query is made in 2 days.
Besides the daily verifications, LACNIC only accepts new delegations or delegation updates if all servers informed in the form are answering authoritatively to the zones that are being registered or updated.
The results obtained until 2013-06-19 are shown in the table and graphs below. These data are updated daily.
